Run Every Day

That could mean sun or rain…or based on today, what turned out to be rain with some thunder and lightning.

Got my bucket list travel stamp…Cuba…now, when can I go back?

I’ve wanted to visit Cuba for quite some time now. I can’t really say why…just curious. My wife and I recently went on a cruise and got to spend some time in Cuba as a result. What I can say — is not if I will go back, but when I will go back.

At this time it looks like my next trip will also be by way of a cruise, however hopefully the travel embargo will be lifted and we’ll be able to fly direct and really spend some time on the island.

Anyway, here is a link to a few hundred random images we took while in Havana: Cuba – May 2017

Out running…3 years of running every day

Today marked 3 years for my run streak, with a total of 5555.5 miles. That breaks down to an average of just over 5 miles per day. Of course, some days included much more.

Tomorrow begins Year 4 Day 1.

Smartphone home screen: January 2017

My home screen as I finish out 2016 and move into 2017.

I prefer to keep things simple and currently have my phone setup with just one screen of icons. I use Action Launcher so all my other installed apps are available with a quick swipe from the left of the screen.

I’m still rocking a Nexus 5x, but I am hoping to be able to upgrade to a Pixel sooner rather than later.

Running in 2016

I’ve kept my daily run streak active through 2016 and will be “earning my comma” in a few short days. Yes, I am nearing 1,000 days of running every single day. But instead of looking forward, I wanted to drop a few words about running in 2016.

There really isn’t much to say, which I suppose is both good and bad. On the good side — I’ve kept the streak alive and I’ve enjoyed running every day. On the bad side, 2016 wasn’t much more than routine runs. Well, aside from back in January when I completed my second 100 miler.

Otherwise, I only ran a few small races in 2016. I look to change that in 2017 and have already said I would be running another 100 miler in January 2018 – which means I have some work to do. Here is to an enjoyable (and injury free) 2017.

Having said all that, I closed 2016 with 1,726 miles. And for those keeping track, that was down from 2,004 in 2015.
